The Tacoma Dragon Boat Association is pleased to host the annual Rainier Dragon Boat Festival. The best place to view the races is from the shoreline at Thea’s Park. Bring a chair or blanket and settle in for an exciting day of racing!

Event Schedule

• 8:00 am Opening Ceremony: Dotting of the Eye, Blessing & Proclamation by the Tacoma Mayor
• 8:30 am Coaches & Steers Meeting 08:30am
• 9:00 am Races Begin: 9:00AM
• 11:30 am Dragon Dance
• 3:30 pm Medal Ceremonies

Parking

• Very limited park at site
• Shuttle from E 25th st & E G st with free parking at the Tacoma Dome Station (enter the parking garage off of E 25th street)
• 535 Dock Street: Republic Parking – limited spaces
• 535 Dock Street: Event drop-off and limited street parking
• 1933 Dock St (The Henry) with a parking garage (1.2 miles to the venue)
• 1705 Thea Landing with a parking garage (1 mile to the venue)
• 1801 Glass Museum – Shuttle pick-up

Need Steers and drummers

• Your help Is needed!
• Steers & drummers are needed for community team races.
• Please ask your steers & teammates if they would help drum & steer
• Sign-up will be at marshalling

Gear Drop Off and Pick Up

To drop off and pick-up gear at Thea Park, a temporary drop off area will be designated at the park entry. You are also encouraged to park in the republic pay to park parking lot on the other side of the building and tote your gear from there to the park. NO PARKING in or driving through the Dock Building.
